About me

I began my career as a Speech Pathologist working in preschools and schools in regional South Australia, where I gained valuable experience in areas such as Developmental Language Disorder, Speech Sound Disorders, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), and Literacy. This experience also deepened my understanding of the critical role Speech Pathology services play in regional and remote communities, where access to specialised care can be limited.

My enthusiasm for supporting students with complex communication needs inspired me to take on a role as a school-based Speech Pathologist in a metropolitan Special School. In this role, I further developed my expertise in AAC, Literacy, and the development of Oral Eating and Drinking Care Plans. I have had the privilege of supporting students with a range of conditions, including Intellectual Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, physical disabilities and genetic disorders such as Down Syndrome, among others.

My work is centered on collaboration with educators to build their capacity and integrate effective communication interventions within the classroom environment, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning experience for all students.

I hold a Bachelor of Speech Pathology and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Special Education from Flinders University. I have also completed a Certificate II in Auslan (Australian Sign Language).
